RevCube app for iPhone and iPad

Try RevCube, a brand new strategy "cube" game, which is a 3D extended version of the board game widely known as Reversi. The game is played in a rotative cubic space divided into 8x8x8 cells, where the discs can be flipped from any 3D directions.

As in many board games, the player who “correctly interprets the situations tactically and continuously makes the right strategic moves” becomes the winner in RevCube. SPELL is a function that provides hints for winning.


Mobility N

Mobility N is a SPELL that helps you “understand the current tactical situation” by providing the number (= Mobility Number) of cells that you and your opponent can potentially move to. (*Tip: Refer to the methodologies of Reversi and Othello to see whether it is more advantageous to have higher or lower mobility numbers!)


Mobility P

Mobility P is a SPELL that helps you “find positions” by visually indicating all the potential cells where you and your opponent can move to. This SPELL will help you find positions more efficiently, especially beyond the middle phase of the game.


Flips

Flips is a SPELL that helps you “move strategically” by revealing “the total number of discs that will be flipped if you move to the indicated cell.” (*Tip: Refer to the methodologies of Reversi and Othello to see whether it is more advantageous to have more or less discs flipped!)


Kaihoudo

Kaihoudo is a rarified SPELL that helps you “move strategically” by revealing a specific number which differs from the flip number. (*Tip1: Kaihoudo is a useful measure for the “quietness/loudness” of your potential move.) (*Tip2: Kaihoudo is based on the “開放度” (=Kaihoudo) theory proposed by Ken Murakami, the former world Othello champion. The calculation for Kaihoudo is simple addition, yet this SPELL will save you the trouble of making calculations in a 3D cube!)


Mobility N++

Mobility N++ is a rarified SPELL that helps you “move strategically” by revealing the Mobility Number of both you and your opponent once you move to the indicated cell. (*Tip: This SPELL provides a number useful for measuring the “quietness/loudness” of the move.)
